👨

Parent Assigns Quest

Parents select a quest template and assign it to a specific child

What happens:

  • Quest appears in child's inbox immediately
  • Child receives notification (if enabled)
  • Quest status: Assigned
  • XP and coin values are set at assignment time
👧

Child Accepts or Rejects

Child views the quest and decides whether to accept

Two outcomes:

✅ Accept

  • • Quest moves to inbox
  • • Status: Accepted
  • • Ready to start working

❌ Reject

  • • Only if family allows
  • • Parents get notification
  • • Quest archived

Child Completes Quest

Child finishes the task and submits completion with proof

Completion process:

  1. Child clicks "Mark Complete" button
  2. Upload photo proof (optional or required based on settings)
  3. Add notes about completion (optional)
  4. Submit for approval

📸 Photo Proof Tips:

  • • Before/after photos work great for chores
  • • Homework: show completed worksheet
  • • Exercise: screenshot of activity tracker
  • • Creative projects: show finished work

Parent Approval (Optional)

If enabled, parents review completion before awarding rewards

Two modes:

🔓 Auto-Approve (Default)

Rewards awarded immediately upon completion. Good for:

  • • Established trust
  • • Simple tasks
  • • Older children
  • • Photo proof is sufficient

🔒 Require Approval

Parents review before rewards. Good for:

  • • Quality verification needed
  • • High-value quests
  • • Building trust
  • • Younger children

Enable in: Settings → Quest Rules → "Require parent approval for quest completion"

Rewards Awarded

Child receives XP and coins automatically

What happens:

  • XP added to child's experience total
  • Coins deposited in child's wallet
  • Level up if XP threshold reached
  • Achievement unlocked (if applicable)
  • Quest marked complete in history

🎮 Leveling Up:

Each level requires more XP than the last. Formula: Level 2 = 100 XP, Level 3 = 200 XP, Level 4 = 300 XP, etc. Children see progress bar on their dashboard!

Other Quest Outcomes

Expired

Quest had a due date that passed without completion. No rewards awarded. Archived.

Failed

Parent rejected completion during approval. Child can retry or quest is closed.
