Install QuestStream on your iOS device

Open Safari:
Navigate to queststream.online (must use Safari, not Chrome)

Tap Share button:
The square with arrow pointing up (bottom center on iPhone, top right on iPad)

Select "Add to Home Screen":
Scroll down in the share menu until you find this option

Name the app:
"QuestStream" is pre-filled, tap "Add" in top-right corner

Launch from home screen:
QuestStream icon appears on home screen, tap to open like any app!
💡 iOS Tips:
- • Must use Safari browser for installation (Chrome won't work on iOS)
- • App runs in fullscreen without browser UI
- • Can enable notifications in iOS Settings → QuestStream
- • Works great on iPad with split-view multitasking
Android (Phone/Tablet)
Install QuestStream on your Android device

Open Chrome:
Navigate to queststream.online in Chrome browser

Look for install prompt:
Banner appears at bottom: "Add QuestStream to Home screen"

Tap "Install" or "Add":
If banner doesn't appear, tap menu (⋮) → "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"

Confirm installation:
Tap "Install" in the dialog that appears

Launch from app drawer:
QuestStream appears in your app list, opens as standalone app
💡 Android Tips:
- • Works with Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Samsung Internet
- • Can pin to home screen or keep in app drawer
- • Notifications work automatically after install
- • Manage app permissions like any other Android app
Desktop (Windows/Mac/Linux)

Chrome, Edge, or Brave work best (Safari on Mac also works)

Visit queststream.online:
Navigate to the QuestStream website

Look for install icon:
Install icon (➕ or computer icon) appears in address bar

Click "Install":
Click the icon → "Install" in the popup

Launch from applications:
QuestStream appears in your applications/programs list, opens in its own window

QR Code Device Authorization
HBO Max-style secure device pairing for your family
Instead of logging in on every device, use QR codes to authorize new devices instantly and securely.
How to Authorize a New Device:

On your already-authorized device (parent):
- Go to Parent Profile in sidebar
- Scroll to Device Authorization section
- Click "Generate QR Code" button
- QR code appears on screen (valid for 10 minutes)

On the new device you want to authorize:
- Open QuestStream (don't log in)
- Visit the device authorization page
- Tap "Scan QR Code"
- Point camera at QR code on other device

Instant authorization:
New device is authorized immediately! You're logged in and ready to use.

- • No typing passwords on TV/tablet
- • Works even if child doesn't know password
- • Secure (codes expire after 10 min)
- • Perfect for setting up children's devices

- • QR codes expire after 10 minutes
- • New device needs camera permission
- • Both devices need internet connection
- • Can revoke device access in settings
Troubleshooting Device Setup
Common issues and solutions
❓ Install prompt doesn't appear
- • iOS: Must use Safari, not Chrome or other browsers
- • Android: Use menu (⋮) → "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"
- • Desktop: Look for install icon in address bar (may be hidden in menu)
- • Try opening in incognito/private mode first, then regular browser
📷 QR code won't scan
- • Enable camera permissions for QuestStream
- • Make sure QR code is fully visible and well-lit
- • Check if QR code expired (generate new one)
- • Try increasing screen brightness on device showing QR code
- • Hold steady - auto-scans when focused
🔄 App doesn't update
- • Close app completely and reopen
- • Clear browser cache in device settings
- • Uninstall PWA and reinstall from website
- • Check for iOS/Android system updates
📴 Offline mode not working
- • Visit pages while online first (they get cached)
- • Service worker may take a few minutes to activate
- • Check browser supports PWAs (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox)
- • Private/incognito mode doesn't cache for offline
